Classical Yoga is based in the personal exploration of the relationship between the idealized self and the perspective of the true self observing the idealized self. 'Yoga' is the unavoidable yoke (union) between the forces of the physical world, and the personal choices that we make as we experience the physical world... the Yamas (moral discipline ) and the Niyamas (observances.)
Yoga+ReSet practice embodies the tradition of a movement experience +PLUS a chiropractic cervical (neck) adjustment during the savasana posture at the end of the class (if desired); the ultimate 'ReSet.'
Yoga+ReSet is a Level 1-2 Vinyasa-style physical practice with music and color. Certain postures are held for a 5-breath count to assure complete immersion in restoration. Dr. Dean leads the students through a variety of classical Yoga postures that are safe + accessible. Dr. Dean has modified all of the 'risky' postures, or eliminated them all together to ensure a non-strenuous + vibrant experience.
Yoga+ReSet is a 'feel-good' practice with a foundation deeply rooted into the origins of classical Yoga. Here, your personal values + goals matter. Dr. Dean uses oils + sound to enhance the experience. Dr. Dean uses primarily Sanskrit posture cues to be true to the discipline.
Dr. Forester Dean is a sports chiropractor and physiotherapist. Dr. Dean is a patient advocate for safe and effective practices at low cost, and teaches tennis, Muay Thai, short-track, physical fitness and immunity-based nutrition at the Core X System Campus in Torrance, California.
Prepare for class: Yoga+ReSet recommendations: mat (required) + optional: (2-4) blocks + yoga blanket (beach towel) + (2) 8-10' straps + bolster (second blanket/towel) The Yoga+ReSet classroom is immaculate and hepa-filtered.
